Clutch Replacement
Replacing the clutch and dual-mass flywheel when slipping or difficult gear changes appear.
Clutch Replacement at Twin Torque Service
The clutch transfers all of the engine's power to the gearbox, so wear quickly makes driving harder. We assess the disc, pressure plate, release bearing and dual-mass flywheel to replace exactly what's needed.
What the service covers
- clutch slip and judder diagnostics
- full clutch kit replacement (disc, pressure plate, bearing)
- dual-mass flywheel inspection and replacement
- bleeding and adjusting the release system
When to visit the workshop
Don't wait if the clutch slips, gears engage stiffly or you feel judder when pulling away. Driving on a worn clutch can damage the flywheel and the gearbox.
Frequently asked questions
How do I recognise a worn clutch?
Slipping (high revs without acceleration), difficult gear changes, judder when pulling away and a burnt-clutch smell. That's your cue to visit.
Should the dual-mass flywheel be replaced with the clutch?
We check the flywheel for play and run-out. If it's worn, it's worth replacing it together with the clutch to avoid paying for the labour twice.
How long does a clutch replacement take?
Usually one working day, depending on the model and parts availability. Priced after diagnostics.
